Big Projects - Advatange Electric Plus, Inc has been involved in a wide variety of big and small projects.

Advantage Electric Plus is the preferred contractor for many of some of Montana’s biggest industries that operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Providing a continual supply of water. Small town Water Systems and Waste Water Treatment Plants throughout the state have put Advantage Electric on their speed dial for troubleshooting whenever a problem arises. Sometimes these can be solved with just a phone conversation or the technology of Ethernet connections with a computer.

Providing a continual supply of water for small remote towns in Montana is a critical service 24/7,. on the line….. night or day, evenings or weekends, they know. We have actually gotten standing ovations from their workers at some of these critical times during a holiday sort.

When UPS has a Package Conveyor Belt go down during the heavy month of December, with dozens of paid employees on the line. . . . night they know that Advantage Electric has the expertise to troubleshoot, find and fix the problem in minimum amount of down time. We have even gotten standing ovations from their workers at critical times during a sort.

Advantage Electric was awarded the contract for New Construction of the Slumberland Furniture Store in 2006 by a General Contractor in Great Falls , MT. In the beginning, the job seemed disorganized with little coordination among the different tradesmen involved in the construction (Fire Sprinkler crew, Insulators, Sheetrockers, Ductworkers, Painters, Security, etc).  Our crew of electricians took the initiative, and set the pace for the job. Advantage Electric invested its time and resources to maximize everyone’s skills to the benefit of the customer, bringing the entire job to completion on time. Our three-man crew finally took the bull by the horns and set the pace for the job, coordinating with all the other trades involved (Fire Sprinkler crew, Insulators, Sheet rockers, Sheet Metal Workers, Painters, etc) for successful completion of the job on time. We invested extra manpower and some weekend overtime, but to the benefit of everyone involved.

Residential customers are generally referred by other companies andindividuals known to us,for a wide variety of services. We've prepared a pamphlet for retrofit of Tamper Resistant Outlets (TRO's) which are distributed for us by other local companies and contractors with whom we exchange referrals.

Since 2005, Tamper Resistant Outlets (TRO's) have been mandatory in electrical circuits of new homes, but are still optional for older homes. Advantage Electric is pro-active in offering these child-proof safety devices to homeowners in the Billings area, especially where small children are present.

How can you find where an underground electrical wire is broken? Yes, With a Locator Fault Finder

We don’t have any power to some of the outlets in my living room….. Or We don’t have any lights in the warehouse, and we smell smoke when we flip the breaker. Or My lights don’t work and we checked all the breakers. Can you come and find the problem and fix it.? We have qualified electricians available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Our water tower is calling for water. The Power company came out and tried to repair one of the starters and broke it. How soon can you get here? It depends on how far away you are, but we services Montana and the surrounding states, so it is just a matter of how long it takes to get there.

We have some programmable equipment. It isn’t a PLC. Can you set it up? It may take me a little bit to figure out the set-up on it, but we can handle it. PLC's are one of our specialties.

Can you repair parking lot lights? As long as they aren’t over 40’ tall. That’s the height limit of our bucket truck.

Do you conduct Home Inspections?Yes, and it’s a good idea to have an electrician inspect a home before you buy one, especially when buying an older home or building. Many previous owners have replaced the 2-hole outlets with 3-hole outlets simply for the convenience of being able to plug in new appliances, without running a ground wire.

What is wrong with replacing a 2-wire outlet with a 3-wire outlet?Code requires that it must be a GFCI, with will afford you protection against electrical shock, but still does not supply the missing ground.

Why does each outlet need a ground?Yes, as a member of the IEC in Montana, we have a pool of qualified industrial electricians who are available on a revolving door basis. Most large industrial jobs require advance bidding and planning, and therefore a to man up with the best manpower available.

Can a ground wire be added to the outlets of older homes?Yes, but it’s not easy and it’s not cheap. It involves taking the sheeting off the walls. Any time you are remodeling any part of an older home or building is probably a good time to upgrade the wiring.
